2018 Week 4 Term 1

Dear St Finbar’s Community

We have now entered the season of Lent in our liturgical calendar.  The colour that is used to represent this season is purple.  The children were presented with a purple cloth for their sacred spaces last Wednesday at our Ash Wednesday mass.  The children displayed outstanding reverence at this time.  It was pleasing to receive phone calls and messages from parishioners after our gathering.

Thank you to all those parents and carers who have attended our Parent Information Evening and Family Conferences.  We value clear lines of communication and the partnership between the home and the school.  I also thank the staff for their commitment to these important processes.

We have further opportunities to gather as a Catholic faith and learning community in the coming weeks.  Sunday 4th March 2017 will be a time when we will gather for the Parish Mass at 9.30am.  Following this celebration, we will be hosting open classrooms, fun activities and a family bbq.  I encourage all families to attend this event as it is a celebration and showcase of the great learning that happens at St Finbar’s.  This is also an opportunity to invite extended family and neighbours or anyone who might be interested in enrolling at St Finbar’s for 2019. This event also launches our enrolment period for 2019.  Enrolment Application Packages will be available on this day.  An additional tour of the school will also be available on Thursday 8th March at 2pm.

Thank you for your ongoing support
