Superheroes for Julian

Superhero

Thank you for your support of our Superheroes for Julian day today. I know that the Cadman family and St Bernadette’s Lalor Park Community are touched by the response to this tragic event.

End of Term

School Holidays

As Term 3 quickly draws to a close our students are working at finalising assessments and preparing for our St Finbar’s Feast Day Mass and Ninja Warrior Day on Friday.  Thank you to Mrs Platt and Mr Ticehurst for the many hours of preparation that has gone into planning this day.

Term 4 is in important term. It is a term for consolidation for many students all.

A vital element of ensuring continued growth in learning is the need for students to do some simple things during the holiday break. The school holiday break can sometimes lead to a learning dip where students who do not practice skills and keep the learning aspects of their brain active actually go backwards. Reading will greatly increase your ability to return to school ready to learn. I encourage all students to find sometime to read during the holidays, visit the library and READ EACH DAY!

Professional Learning

Case Management is a key diocesan strategy that is used to bring a team of teachers together with the aim of providing a peer teacher with strategies to improve learning for a targeted student. Case Management has a well defined process that is proven to improve learning. At St Finbar’s we implemented this strategy in 2014. Last Monday Mrs Maunder and I attended training to refine our Case Management processes.

Yours in Christ,
